How does one write a paper but manage to avoid using first or second person pronouns? Answer: very sneakily . . . .
Look at the first sentence. I could have easily asked how "you" write a paper, but I refrained. Using the third person word of "one" saved me.
*Note - When writing your paper, the reader knows and understands that it is the work of the author. Therefore, using "I" or "we" is not needed. Simply state the information boldly and proudly.
